What Sets Us Apart?

✓ ALEF – The Learning:

We believe that Torah is sweet as honey and accessible to all children.
Our mixed-age, tracked model allows children to join a class best suited to them and excel at their own pace. Tracks are on par with and correspond to mainstream grade levels.

Learning is both traditional and experiential, harnessing innate childhood creativity, imagination,
and thoughtfulness to allow for an immersive experience replete with development of real-world
skills.

✓ BEIS – The Teachers:

We want our children to feel at home in Tashbar, and this occurs naturally when our teachers and support staff are not only experienced teachers, but also caring mentors.

Learning can occur when a child’s needs are met and he is in a wholesome, secure mind space, and so cultivating a warm and joyful environment becomes foundational to our students’ personal and academic success.

We maintain a very low teacher:student ratio.

✓ GIMMEL –  The Students:

We believe that children are innately curious and desire to learn; they are capable of assuming responsibility and training to be adults.

At Tashbar, our students are given the opportunity to be men in the world: they can go fishing, run a minyan, build real structures, write a poem, sing a solo, and repaint their classroom. Tashbar provides the opportunities to develop academic, social and emotional competence and confidence, and the chance to grow the wings of personal responsibility.

Tashbar children live in the present and learn for the future.

Our School:
Tashbar is a Baltimore-based K-8 boys’ yeshiva day school. Tashbar’s unique, student-centered instruction aims to impart yiras shamayim, cultivate healthy interpersonal relationships, and teach core knowledge and skills in an experiential, comprehensive, and fulfilling way.

Our mixed-age, tracked model allows children to join a class best suited to them and excel at their own pace. Tracks are on par with and correspond to mainstream grade levels.

We believe that children are innately curious and desire to learn; they are capable of assuming responsibility and training to be adults.

The mission of Tashbar is to provide a program that will encourage each student to achieve his highest potential as he strives for excellence in Limudei Kodesh and General Studies. Based upon the principles of Torah, Halacha, and Derech Eretz, and by emphasizing the “total person,” Tashbar aims to develop the general character of the student on his journey to become a responsible and productive member of the Jewish community.

Tashbar aims to:

• Instill Ahavas HaTorah – love for learning.

• Foster Simchas Hachaim – love of life.

• Develop a sense of pride in being a part of the greater Klal (community).

• Instill a sense of responsibility to the Klal (community).

• Develop character (Middos).

• Encourage each student to reach his highest potential.

• Cultivate proficiency in all subject matters.

• Prepare our students to be future leaders and role models who will create a Kiddush HaShem (sanctify G-d).

We take pride in our excellent Rebbeim, teachers, and Morahs. We have an outstanding staff of dedicated and devoted individuals whose sole interest is the chinuch and well-being of the children in their care. They strive for continued growth and elevation in the pursuit of excellence. Our teachers are well-known in the community for going the extra mile to meet each student’s needs.
